The city walls and Micklegate Bar, the royal entrance to the city, are a 10-minute walk away. This is also where the pubs and restaurants start. Dating to the late 1800s, St George's is a family-run bed and breakfast with rooms each featuring a flat-screen TV, free tea and coffee making facilities and a private bathroom. A full English breakfast is available every morning in the traditional dining room or guests can enjoy breakfast in bed brought to the room. St George’s is also home to Kittson, the rather large resident cat. With numerous attractions, York’s city centre is within a 20-30 minute stroll. The regular city centre bus service is found within a few minutes’ walk.

Please note that if an extra guests will be staying in the room this must be arranged in advance. Pets must not be left unattended in rooms. St George's is flexible with early or late arrivals. This must be arranged prior to arrival. Please note that St George's do not accept American Express as a method of payment. The second floor rooms have areas with low ceilings. Please note that this is a Victorian home so it does not have a lift. There are five steps up to the front of the property. Please note there may be dogs present at the property.
